At the project’s outset, the existing building was a hodgepodge of haphazard additions. The challenge was to streamline the design into a more cohesive, impactful living space. Extending the covered outdoor space allievated existing awkward angles and level changes. To address the more difficult exterior, where many of the pre-existing conditions prevented major interventions, the entire structure was wrapped in a single material, creating a bold, unified impression without compounding existing issues.
