This ground-up home in Amagansett, New York, is arranged as a series of low gabled volumes that echo the area’s historic farmsteads through a modern lens. The contemporary, wood-clad structures are organized around a central courtyard, while deep roof overhangs add shaded gathering space that is cool in the daytime and cozy in the evening. The result is an environment with a strong sense of enclosure and security.
